Phychoanalysis is the most interesting in my opinion, as it deals with the unknown of the human mind. Insanity has always been inriguing to me, so the idea that most of what we do in life is unknown to us as is the reasoning behind it just makes it incredibly interesting. It also adds layers to both the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" and life in general. If one applies psychoanalysis to the poem, one sees more of the clashing sides of humanity, the consious and the unconcious, put aganist each other in the beautiful form of a poem about birds.

Out of the three literary theories that we have studied (Feminist, Marxist, and Psychoanalytic), the most interesting theory to me when applied to the poem "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" is Pyschoanalytic theory. Psychoanalytic theory digs down into the individual deeper than the other literary theories that we have studied. In Psychoanalytic theory, the free bird of the poem is more of the conscious or superego of the bird. A person can seem happy and free on the outside, or in Frued's theory, the top of the iceberg above the water. The caged bird can be more of the id or unconscious part of the bird; someone deep down can feel imnprisoned and sad while appearing to be happy on the outside. Psychoanalytic theory is more interesting to me than the other literary theories that we studied.

I think psychoanalytic is the most interesting theory applied to the poem. We have no control over our unconcsious thoughts. I think it's interesting trying to apply something that we don't really understand much about. I like learning about something that goes on inside us and trying to bring sense to it by veiwing the poem through a "psychoanalytic lense".

I thought that the psychoanalytic theory was the most interesting of the three theories. Psychoanalytic is more in depth and more mysterious than the other two, comprising of conscious reasoning, reasons why we SAY we do something, and unconscious reasoning, reasons why we MORALLY and MENTALLY do something. It is intriguing how we understand only a small portion of ourselves, and the two birds reflect both the conscious and unconsious reasons, and repressed and sublimed feelings.

In my opinion, I think the most interesting theory is the psychoanalytic because it is the hardest to understand but it fully makes sense if you think about it enough. Like this one truly describes how our life truly is and how our brain works when conscious and unconscious. We may not know how or why but it really is sensible in the end. Trying to apply this theory to the poem is very interesting and difficult but true.

I think the most interesting of the three theories is the psychoanalytic theory. It is interesting because when the free bird is described as the un/subconscious mind. The unconsious mind can do pretty much anything, for example while you are sleeping you can do anything in your mind, like flying, breathing underwater or teleporting. While like the caged bird the conscious mind is limited to what it can do.

I think that the psychoanalysis theory is the most interesting when applied to "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings", because it is exploring a field that we don't really know a whole lot about. We know about feminism and marxism in society, but we don't really (and can't really) know a lot about the mind - especially the unconscious mind. It's pretty interesting to think that there are things going on in our heads that we could never really know about yet still affects us, like if we were the free bird consciously, but the caged bird unconsciously.

I found the psychoanalysis theory the most interesting because there are so many different ways to interpret the poem using this theory. First, the caged bird could be interpreted as the unconsciousness and the free bird can be the consciousness. The cool thing is, that it can also be interpreted as the exact opposite. The caged bird can be the consciousness and the free bird could be the unconscious. I also, like this theory because the free bird represents your dreams and visions and the caged bird can represent where you are now and the things you must do to achieve your dreams and vision.

I believe that out of the three literary critics, Marxism is the most interesting. I feel that this theory is the most interesting because the two birds represent the wealthy and the poor. The caged bird symbolizes the poor people and the free bird symbolizes the rich people. A Marxist would want to limit the free bird and give the caged bird more freedom. This is so interesting because it is changing society to be one equal group of people.

I think that the feminist literary theory is most interesting when applied to the poem "I Know How the Caged Bird Sings". I think that because in my mind, it has many interesting ways to view the poem. The two birds can be viewed as women and men, women today and women in the past, or different races or nationalities of women. It is very interesting to see that a poem can have so many meanings depending on how you look at it, and looking at it through a feminist literary critic's point of view demonstrates that well with all of the different ways to look at the two birds and what they represent. The other theories both are interesting, but not as much because they do not have as many ways to view the poem as feminism.

I think that the phycoanalytic interpretation of the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" is the most interesting because there are so many different ways to read it. Phycoanalysis is mostly a theory so there are not many solid facts involved. As a result, you can interperate the poem anyway you want. It influences you to question your own mind and wonder, if it is true, how you would define yourself and how well you actually know yourself. The entire theory is strange and I am not sure if I agree with it but it is deffinitely interesting because of the way it forces you to think differently.

I think the physchanalytic theory is the most interesting when applied to the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings". The physcoanalytic theory appears to be more than the physical, straightforward feminist and marxist theory. It seems to be more confusing and more difficult to understand. This makes it more interesting and thought provoking, which always makes the better, more interesting story. this story is also quite different than the other two theories, as it has to do more with the mind.

I feel that the most interesting literary theory is phychoanalysis, because I am very interested in the subconscious. After watching Inception, I have been very curious as to why people do what they do and what happens in their subconscious. When applied to the poem, "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings"' I think that the free bird represents your subconscious, because no one can control what it does and what it is doing, while the caged bird represents your conscious. It has been caged and controlled by society's customs and rules.

In my opinion I think psychoanalytic is the most interseting when applied to the poem "i Know Why the Caged Birds Sings". I think this because in this theory you can look at the free bird and say it is your conscious and say the caged bird is your uncounscious. But you can also look at it the complete opposite way, the free bird is your unconcious and the caged bird your conscious and this still makes sense. While the others don't make as much sense when you look at them opposite ways. This is what makes the psychoanalytic theory the most intresting out of all three.

I thought that the psychoanalytic literary criticism was the most interesting. I thought it was the most interesting out of the three because when applied to the poem it makes the most sense. The caged bird being the unconsious and the free bird as the conscious; the free bird showing repression because we have thoughts on what society puts on us. The caged bird shows sublimation because the things that interest us and what society does not put on us is "caged." I think this is the most interesting becasue of this.

When applied to "I Know Why the Cadged Bird Sings" I find Psychoanalysis the most interesting theory. You can look at the Free bird as your conscious and the Cadged bird as your unconscious, or the complete oposite. Either way you look at it makes sense. Although all the theories can be applied to the poem in many ways, Psychoanalysis is the only one where the ways to view it are oposite.

I think that the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" was the most interesting when psychoanlysis was applied. The psychoanalytic theory made me view the free bird as a persons unconsicous and the caged bird as a persons conscious. In the unconscious part of our lives, we are free to do whatever we like. Unlike in the conscious part, we have no boundaries. In the conscious part of our lives, we have restrictions that our made by society. Things like school and morality can really control our conscious thoughts and actions.

I think the most interesting literary theory is the psychoanalysis. To me psychoanalysis is the most interesting because it is the hardest to understand. The free bird or the caged bird could go either way. Either bird could represent conscious or unconscious. It the most interesting because there are many different ways to look at it and with the other literary theories there are not as many.

I believe that the feminist lens is the most practical way to explain the poem. It would be relatively hard to eexplain it in a Marxist or psychoanalytic eye if the author had neither of those elements in mind. But since she is a woman, and since the poem was written during a time of feminist revival, it is easy to imagine the poem being centered on a feminist base.

The most interesting literary theory for the poem "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" is the psychoanalytic theory. There are the many different ways you can view the poem when you look at it from a psychoanalytic's point of view compared to the feminist and Marxist point of view. It is also more difficult to find out what the caged bird and the free bird would represent in the psychoanalytic theory than the other theories. The thing that made me think psychoanalytic theory is the most interesting is how different it can be depending how you intercept the poem.

I find marxism the most interesting when applied to "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." The caged bird represents, to me, the lower class, encased in their own poverty. The free bird represents the upper class, which can do whatever just because they have money. The Marxist idea is the most interesting because it is a very untraditional way of looking at things, as opposed to something like psychoanalysis, which is overdone anyway.

In my opinion, the feminist view of “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” was the most interesting. It wasn’t necessarily better, but it just meant more to me because feminism is the topic that I’m most familiar with. The fact that I know more about it allowed me to analyze it in a more effective and meaningful way.

I think that analyzing the poem “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” is most interesting when using the ideas of Psychoanalysis. The reason that it is so interesting is because two views/ideas were mentioned in class on the matter; they were complete opposites of each other. One theory was that the conscious thought was the caged bird, and the subconscious was the free bird. The other theory was the opposite. This contrast in ideas is what makes analyzing the poem “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” through the lens of psychoanalysis interesting.

In my opinion, I found the psychoanalytic theory to be the most interesting when applied to the poem "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings". I believe this because both the "concious" and the "unconcious" can be either the free bird or caged bird. The concious could represent the caged bird, because it is based off of the unconcious mind, and when you are concious you are trapped in your own thoughts and you do not even know why you are thinking what you are thinking. The unconcious can be the caged bird as well, because your unconcious thoughts are trapped, trying to escape into your concious mind. Although both the concious and unconcious can represent the free bird too. The concious represents the free bird because you are free to think and say whatever you want while concious. The unconcious represents the free bird because while unconcious you are free to dream or believe anything you want to believe or dream.

While all the literary theories are interesting in my opinion, the one that I prefer would be pyschoanalysis. Pyschoanalysis deals with the concious and the unconcious, making it an intriguing study. The idea that most of 'who we are' actually takes place in an unconcious part of our mind is an overwhelming and fascinating idea. It's a theory that digs deeper into the human mind then either Marxism or Feminism. In my opinion, exploring the human mind is extremely fascinating.

I believe that when applied to the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings", the most intertersting literary theory would be Pyschoanalytic. I think this because psychoanalytic literary theory is fascinating and is a subject i have never thought of before. When this theory is applied to the poem, it makes you think of your concious, and unconcious mind as free, and caged birds, and they can be portrayed as either one. That is why psychanalytic theory is definitely the most interesting literary theory.
