In my opinion i think that High Schools should assign summer reading because it keeps kids reading over the summer, Gives teachers something to discuss when the kids get back from school, and it widens the kids perspective on books.

I think that students should have assigned reading material over the summer as a form of mental exercise and to prepare for the coming year.

I support summer reading because it prevents summer learning loss, broadens the kids selection of books, and keeps their brains active throughout the sumnmer.

I support summer reading because teenagers need to be reading over the summer, its easier for the teacher and students to have assigned summer reading, and last but not least you may find your favorite book over summer reading.

I do not support summer reading being assigned because it wastes our summer break, the kids should choose summer reading books, and it is not fun.

In my point of view I think that High Schools should assign summer reading because it keeps kids interested in books over the summer, makes you not brain dead for school, and improves your vocab and reading skills.

High schools shouldn't have summer reading because sumnmer should be a time to cool down, kids procrastinate, and reading should be done in free time; not forced.

My opinion is that high schools shouldn't assign summer reading because it puts alot of stress on the student, takes away part of summer which is a reward and relaxation period away from school and alot of students dont read the book till the last few days before school or just sparknote it.

Summer reading in inconvinient and counter productive because it makes reading a burden for kids, makes parents haveot worry about their kids doing homework while they are off and it infringes upon kids having the freedom they deserve over the summer.

I believe that summer reading should be optional or extra credit because Summer is a vacation, it can highlight the hard-workers, and required reading can make students enjoy reading less.

I think summer reading is important because it improves your education, it gets you prepared for the school year, and if you let the kids choose a book, they will start to enjoy reading more.

i think that high schools should not assign summer reading to their students because kids need a break from school work, it causes unnecessary stress for the student, and also kids can just use sparknotes to read chapter notes and know what happens in the book without even reading it

I believe that High Schools should have summer reading because it helps keep your brain active, can help you become a more fluent reader, and is a good way for teachers to open discussion for the start of the year.

I think that high schools should assign summer readings b/c its likely that a student may pick a novel that has a topic that other students don't want to read, the words may be challenging, and I feel like if the students choose, it won't be "high school level" reading.

I think summer reading is very important. It is better to read books during the holidays, because you have more time and after reading you know more facts about the book. I know that after 3 months everybody forget a lot of stuff, and summer reading is a way to improve the reading skills.

I support summer reading because, the more someone reads the more fluent of a reader they become, reading can be fun, and it gives teachers a topic to start off the year that everyone is familiar with.

teachers should assign summer reading because students can practice concentrating, the reading benefits educational skills over time and allows all students to start the year at the same place.

I do not support summer reading becauyse summer is our time to relax, mostly all students forget the book when we get back to school, and while reading the book a student will not be focused on it.

In my opinion, school should assign summer reading because it keep studentss brains active in the summer, it gives them a "school related" thing to do and it will prepare students for harder classes.
